Celebrating 33 years serving Janesville!!
Come Dance With Us!
Our dance classes in Janesville run with the school year. The dance year starts after Labor Day and runs until May when we have our annual dance recital. Tuition is broken into four terms for payment. Each term costs $44.00 per term. (4 terms in the year) Classes meet once a week after school. Students are placed in classes based on age and ability. Not many 15 year olds want to be in a class with 8 year olds, so we structure our classes in this way. Students wishing to be in our annual dance recital are required to place a deposit on a costume that they will purchase. Participation in the recital is not mandatory.

We have a large supply of leotards, tights and dance shoes to fit your needs. Our ballet shoes start at just $15.00 . We also sell tap shoes starting at $19.00. Our dancewear is considered a service to our dance students. We happily provide this service to them for dancing with us.
IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE US SPECIAL
We have many exciting opportunities to encourage and enhance our student’s background. We offer awards for the number of years the students have been with us. They receive a typed copy of their spring recital dance to practice with as well as the opportunity to dance at conventions with teachers from all over the U.S.A. Each year we try to bring into our studio in Janesville a nationally recognized teacher. This gives students the opportunity to study under well known people that they normally won't have the opportunity to do so. This year we had one of the Tap Dogs from San Jose, CA here.
We also have a dance club called "Forever Dancin" through the WI Music Federation. This gives the students a chance to compete against themselves for awards in the Dance Field. For those interested, we have a competition team available that travels to various competitions during the year.
Our professionally trained staff awaits the opportunity to share our expertise with you! At Susan's School of Dance, we believe in quality dance education, the same education you would choose for your child. Give us a call at 755-1254 to sign up for dance classes, because "Dancing is what we do best!"
Dance helps gain poise
and self-confidence.
An opportunity is also provided to perfect the basics necessary to attain
a personal dance career.
In keeping with this belief, we present our students throughout the year
for clubs, groups, and nursing homes when we are invited, as well as our spring
performance.
Every boy and girl is entitled to a good education both academically and
culturally.
We like to believe that there
is no such thing as an un-teachable student.
Some of our students have learned to dance even though they have had physical handicaps.
Some student’s pick-up slower, while others learn more quickly.
This is why we group our dance classes according to age and ability.
The
classes begin after Labor Day In Janesville and continue through the school year ending
with a dance recital. Our annual dance recital is at the Janesville
Performing Arts Center in May. Our summer session starts in June and ends
the last week of July.
Except for summer classes, most classes meet once a week for 1/2 hour to allow
students to take more than one subject. We
feel 1/2 hour classes are appropriate for two reasons:
1)
It allows the younger student to focus their attention on the dance
instruction.
2)
It also allows the student to properly warm up their muscles and steadily
progress while improving on the technique or steps and combinations needed to
become a well-rounded dancer.
Intermediate
and advanced classes run 45 minutes to an hour.
To
allow students to study more than one form of dance, we also offer a discount on
the second and third classes each student enrolls in.
The students, who take more than one subject, normally have their classes
scheduled back-to-back. For example:
a student who takes Ballet and Tap, is at class for 1 hour; if they take Ballet,
Tap and Jazz, they are there for 1½ hours, etc...
Leotards, tights and proper dance shoes are required for all classes.
